Music has the power to change lives.

For more than 35 years, I've had the privilege of helping young musicians discover confidence, develop discipline, and pursue excellence through music. Whether I'm working one-on-one with a beginning student, rehearsing an advanced jazz ensemble, or presenting at a music education conference, my goal is always the same: to help people become the very best version of themselves.

I specialize in saxophone, clarinet, and flute instruction while also working with concert bands, jazz ensembles, and music educators throughout Louisiana and beyond. Throughout my career, I've been honored to teach students of every ability level—from beginners learning their first notes to award-winning ensembles performing on national stages.

During my 24 years as Director of Bands at Fontainebleau High School in Mandeville, Louisiana, I had the opportunity to build one of the state's most respected band programs. Under my leadership, the Fontainebleau Jazz Ensemble earned invitations to perform at both the prestigious Midwest Clinic and the Jazz Education Network Conference, while the concert and marching bands consistently ranked among Louisiana's finest. More important than the awards, however, were the thousands of students who discovered confidence, leadership, perseverance, and a lifelong love of music.

Today, I continue that mission through private instruction, guest clinics, professional development, and the Southeast Louisiana Youth Jazz Orchestra (SLYJO). I also serve as a district music educator in Plaquemines Parish, working alongside teachers and students to strengthen music programs across multiple schools. My experience as President of the Louisiana Music Educators Association has further reinforced my belief that great music education changes not only students, but entire communities.

My teaching philosophy is simple:

Every lesson, rehearsal, and clinic is built on strong fundamentals, meaningful relationships, and high expectations. I believe students grow the most when they feel encouraged, challenged, and inspired. Technical excellence is important, but lasting success comes from developing character, confidence, responsibility, and a genuine love for learning.
