Lesson Philosophy

Every student is unique. Lessons are designed around each student's individual goals while emphasizing:

  • Proper fundamentals and technique

  • Tone production

  • Music reading skills

  • Rhythm and counting

  • Scales and technical studies

  • Solo and ensemble preparation

  • Jazz improvisation (when appropriate)

  • Confidence and musical independence

  • Preparation for honor bands, auditions, and college music programs

My goal is not simply to teach students how to play an instrument. I want to help them become confident, disciplined, and expressive musicians who enjoy making music for years to come.

Lessons are available for:

  • Saxophone (Alto, Tenor, Baritone & Soprano)

  • Clarinet

  • Flute

  • Jazz Improvisation

  • All ability levels welcome, from beginners to advanced students

Lesson Schedule and Tuition Information

Private lessons are 60 minutes long and are typically scheduled once a week.

  • Weekly payment: $60 per lesson, paid week to week.

  • Monthly tuition: $200 for four lessons, paid in full at the beginning of the month.

In months with a fifth lesson week, that week is reserved for make-up lessons. Students paying monthly may also schedule an additional lesson that week for $50, subject to availability.

Required Materials

Students are expected to provide:

  • Their own instrument in good playing condition

  • Appropriate reeds (when applicable), mouthpiece, strap, and supplies.

  • Lesson music and method books

  • Metronome

  • Chromatic tuner

  • Manuscript notebook

  • Pencil for every lesson

Additional music and instructional materials may be recommended as each student progresses.
